Turkey Chili

Turkey Chili

Ingredients
- 2 lbs. ground turkey
- 2 cans of red kidney beans
- 2 small cans of green chiles
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbs tomato paste
- 3 cups of chicken broth
- 1 tbs. garlic powder
- 3 tbs. Trader Joe's chili seasoning
- 2 tbs. cumin
- 1 tbs. paprika
- 1 tbs. red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbs. salt or to taste
- toppings: cheese, sour cream, jalapeños, and Cholula hot sauce (trust me on this!)
Instructions
- in a dutch oven or pot on high/medium heat, cook the turkey until brown and cooked through. drain and return to the pot.
- add the onion and bell pepper. sauté for 2 minutes.
- add the can of tomatoes and green chilies, stir to combine.
- add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- add the seasonings, tomato paste, and beans, stir to combine.
- simmer for 10 minutes.
- serve with sour cream, cheese, jalapeños, and Cholula hot sauce.
